Symbiosis: Loop Remembers is a live audiovisual performance with audience participation by Ian Kang and Yun Lee, presented as an outdoor projection and real-time improvisation system. Audiences take turns using two controllers, performing alongside the artists as participants within an interconnected system.
Each performance unfolds as a continuous loop in which audience input enters directly into the compositional process, reshaping the interaction of sound and image in real time. The relationship between performer and audience emerges through ongoing negotiation, forming a symbiotic structure of shared authorship.
Every action enters a loop that remembers. Inputs are absorbed, transformed, and returned, carrying traces of previous interventions. Sound and image recursively influence one another, forming a shared temporal structure in which composition is continuously adjusted through collective action.
It becomes a living field of perception, where sound, image, and light are continuously rewritten. In this space, we encounter one another through response, and through the responses of others.
