We are constantly connected, even across different times and spaces. Sometimes, we
experience disconnection despite physical closeness, while at other times, we feel a deep bond
with those who are far away. Is connection simply a matter of physical proximity, or is it shaped
by experiences, memories, and unseen forces?
This exhibition begins with these questions, exploring the various ways in which people, spaces,
and sensory experiences intertwine. Just as a semicolon (;) extends a sentence without fully
concluding it, art bridges seemingly separate elements, generating new meanings. Within the
artworks, colors and forms touch and blend yet retain their distinct boundaries, reflecting the
nature of relationships—where influence is exchanged, but individuality remains.
In art, connection is not a fixed state but an ever-evolving process. Through this exhibition, we
invite viewers to reconsider the multifaceted nature of connection and to reflect on relationships
that transcend the visible.
연결 (;)
우리는 서로 다른 시간과 공간 속에서도 끊임없이 연결됩니다. 때로는 같은 공간에
있으면서도 단절을 경험하고, 반대로 물리적으로 멀리 떨어져 있음에도 깊은 유대감을
느끼기도 합니다. 연결이란 단순한 물리적 접촉에서 비롯되는 것일까요, 아니면 경험과
기억, 보이지 않는 감각을 통해 형성되는 것일까요?
이번 전시는 이러한 질문에서 출발하여, 인간과 인간, 공간과 공간, 그리고 감각과 물질이
맺는 다양한 연결의 형태를 탐구합니다. 세미콜론(;)이 문장을 끝내지 않고 이어가듯, 예술
또한 단절된 요소들을 잇고 새로운 의미를 생성하는 과정입니다. 작품 속 색과 형태는
맞닿고 섞이면서도 각자의 고유한 경계를 유지하며 변화해 나갑니다. 이는 서로 영향을
주고받지만 결코 동일해질 수 없는 관계의 속성과 닮아 있습니다.
예술 속에서 연결은 단순한 상태가 아니라 끊임없이 흐르고 변화하는 과정입니다. 이번
전시를 통해 관람자들이 ‘연결’의 다층적인 의미를 새롭게 경험하고, 보이지 않는
방식으로도 이어질 수 있는 관계에 대해 사유하는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다.
