OH Art Foundation is pleased to announce The Power of Belief, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Jeffery Beckham Jr. On view from January 16th to February 15th, 2026, we invite all to join us for the exhibition opening on Friday, January 16th, from 7-10pm on the 3rd floor of the Zhou B Art Center.
The Power of Belief is a new solo exhibition by Jeffery Beckham Jr. that explores how faith, identity, and inner conviction shape the stories we live and the futures we imagine. Through vibrant acrylic paintings layered with symbolic crowns, ancestral patterns, and radiant color fields, Beckham invites viewers into a visual journey of transformation—one where belief becomes both mirror and roadmap.
Rooted in his Southern heritage and the lived experiences of the south side of Chicago where he was raised, this collection celebrates resilience, purpose, and the quiet strength found in moments of reflection. Each piece serves as a reminder that belief is not passive, it is an active force that guides, protects, and propels us toward who we are meant to be.
Bold, emotive, and deeply personal, The Power of Belief challenges viewers to consider their own truths and the unseen forces that shape their narratives. This show is an affirmation that within each of us lives a spark powerful enough to change our world.
Jeffery Beckham Jr. is a Chicago-based visual artist whose vibrant acrylic paintings explore identity, ancestry, and the power of belief. Blending bold color palettes, layered textures, and symbolic motifs rooted in African diasporic culture, his work reflects a commitment to telling stories that inspire transformation and collective uplift. Beckham’s practice is deeply influenced by his Southern family roots in Georgia, his lived experiences in Chicago, and his journey as a community-centered leader and technologist.
Best known for series such as Kingdom & Crowns and The Power of Belief, his paintings celebrate Black excellence, spiritual resilience, and intergenerational wisdom. Whether creating portraiture or abstract conceptual works, Beckham uses art as a vehicle for representation, healing, and the affirmation of purpose—inviting viewers to see themselves as the protagonists of their own narrative.
Beckham’s work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural institutions across Chicago, Miami and Atlanta. Outside the studio, he is the CEO of Chicago Scholars and Co-CEO/Founder of REACH Pathways, initiatives advancing educational equity and technology-driven access for underrepresented communities.
