Produced by OH Art Foundation, this special group exhibition curates visual stories of community members who’ve participated in OH Art Foundation’s APAFA community-based workshops centered on memory, grief, healing, and transformation.
The exhibition brings together documentation and artworks created through Community Workshop 1- Luminous Remains and Community Workshop 2- Alchemy of Memory, where participants were invited to engage deeply with personal histories—honoring what has been lost, and releasing what no longer serves them. Through photo transfers, writing, mixed-media practices, and acts of collective ritual, participants transformed intimate experiences into shared visual and material forms.
Presented through 2D and 3D works, the exhibition holds stories of remembrance, love, resilience, and letting go. Objects once carried privately—photographs, personal belongings, written reflections—are recontextualized as artworks and traces of lived experience. Together, they form a collective archive that speaks to how memory is embodied, how grief is processed, and how healing can occur through communal care.
What We Carry Forward asks: What remains after loss? What do we choose to keep, transform, or release? By centering community voices and lived experience, the exhibition creates space for vulnerability, connection, and shared reflection—affirming that personal stories, when held together, can become a powerful collective presence.
