The KSA Curating Team presents Sarcasm, an exhibition designed to facilitate an immediate encounter between the viewer and the object. In this context, sarcasm is not merely a vehicle for humor; it is a critical tool used to disrupt social tension and challenge the passive consumption of art.
Within the formal constraints of the "white cube," sarcasm serves as a strategic intervention. It forces a confrontation with external social and political realities that are often excluded from the gallery space. By navigating various modes of cynicism and wit, the selected works encourage the audience to dismantle fixed conventions and engage in a more liberated, subjective interpretation.
Through this curation, we aim to transform the gallery into a site for collective inquiry. By utilizing sarcasm as a medium, the exhibition offers a space to reconsider our preconceptions and encounter new perspectives within the complexities of the contemporary landscape.
